The Angel Fund

Aegis Film Group and our new division, Aegis Faith Films, were founded with the intent to provide exceptional entertainment content to a discerning public.

We have been fortunate to be able to work with some of the world’s most talented and creative people.  We know we are blessed and give thanks for the rewards we’ve earned through our hard work and efforts.

At the end of the day, however, we also know there are others who are not as lucky or fortunate and, therefore, we are called to the mission to help wherever and whenever we can.

One of our most personal projects through Aegis Faith Films is “Katie’s Story” – the true story of Katie Kirkpatrick-Godwin and her struggle with terminal cancer.  We are extremely proud to be associated with this story and Katie’s struggle has reminded all of us that cancer, or any terminal or debilitating illness, can strike anyone at any time. When it does it can be devastating.

We have seen the physical misery and financial and emotional toll disease takes on a family – and it is the entire family who suffers, not just the patient.

Many of the treatment facilities for cancer and other diseases are many times outside the hometown area of those suffering – and it causes additional financial and emotional strain if a patient has to travel for treatment. We established The Aegis Faith Films Angel Fund in Katie’s memory to take much of the financial burden off the shoulders of those who are struggling with illness.

If a patient’s course of treatment will take them 100 miles or more from their home The Aegis Faith Films Angel Fund will take care of all travel expenses and accommodations for the entire family up to a total of $10,000.

We feel this assistance will ease some of the financial burden, thus freeing families to be with their loved one during their treatment, and to focus on them and not worry about how they will pay for it.

Our hearts and best wishes are with those families in need and we urge you to please donate to our cause whenever you can.  No donation is too small to help us help others.

Statistics show that patient’s who have family support heal better and faster and our aim is to make life just a little bit easier during these very stressful times. We will endeavor to work with hospital staff and physician’s in order to monitor and administer all funding. To that end we will begin taking applications in March 2011 and choose five families (per calendar year) to assist in this manner. As our fundraising efforts grow we will expand our program to help more families each year.

Our decisions will be based on those with the most need and medical urgency – and not based upon ethnicity, race or status of U.S. residency.  We are only concerned with the welfare and well-being of those who are most vulnerable and most in need.

We thank you all in advance for enabling and promoting our work on behalf of others.

No man or woman is too rich to beg, nor too poor to give.
